Sarah (Jones) and Tilman Farrell were the parents of Jennie Farrell, who married Judge Love. All four are in Section 6. To read more about the Love family, both ancestors and descendants, please visit the Love and Howard pages.
According to the Freedman’s Bank Records of 1871, Sarah was born in Wilkes County Georgia but was raised in Alabama, where her father Philip Jones resided (it is unclear where her mother Adeline came from or where she resided). This Sarah Ferrell, married to Tighlman Ferrell, has two children, George and Jennie, and eight siblings. One year earlier, in an 1870 census across the state in Troup County, a Sarah and T Ferrell appear in a census with a daughter Janey; all individuals seem to match the same ages as our Ferrells but there is no certainty that it’s them. Whether from Wilkes or Troup County, by 1880 the Ferrell family had moved to Fulton Co., Georgia, where Sarah was a laundress. She remained in Fulton County until her death in 1909. That year, Sarah Farrell made her son-in-law Judge Love the executor of her will and left all of her belongings to him and her granddaughter Pinkie Love. She also asked in her will, “that my body be buried in a decent and christian-like manner, suitable to my circumstances and condition in life.” She is buried along with her husband Tillman and daughter Jennie in Section 6 and they all share a monument there.
